High performance strategist, #thinkstrongnow. Business Wingman, Blacktop to boardroom

#thinkstrongnow is a movement. It is a movement meant to address one our most urgent and important epidemics. #thinkstrongnow is helping teach people that our thoughts control our emotions. In order to feel strong and confident, we need to CHOOSE to think thoughts that make us feel strong and confident.

"A man in control of his thoughts is a man in control of his emotions. This man...is a truly strong man." - Scott Gibbs

Most of us are feasting on a steady diet of mental McDonald's (or mental junk food) and don't even know it.

We know that to have a healthy body we need to eat lean proteins, fruits, and vegetables and exercise for 30-60 minutes per day 3-4 times per week. We don't always do it...but we know the strategies to optimal physical health. So...what is our path to world-class thinking habits? How do we effectively process the ever-increasing demands of today's 24x7x365 information-age?

How do we handle...

  • ...age of smartphones, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat?
  • ...24x7X365 negative media messaging? Constantly negative news (CNN).
  • Prozac nation? Pharmaceuticals do not need to be our first method of treatment for anxiety. Our first step needs to be educating each other on how to feed ourselves a healthy mental diet. Generally, we are masking the root cause of our problem (thinking habits) in favor of pharmaceuticals.
  • ...bullying in schools? Why do kids bully? They are hurting? Why are they hurting?
  • ...mass murders? San Bernardino, Colorado Springs, Roseburg, Columbine, Virginia Tech….many other senseless massacres. Why?
  • ...more information in one day than our ancestors did in a lifetime and most of it negative. How do we manage this information?
  • ....workplace absences? Employee disengagement (stress/anxiety/depression?) is the single biggest impact to business productivity (save March madness). Why and how do we treat the root cause of employee disengagement?
  • ...all-time highs in stress and anxiety? In general, life has never been easier for most of the world's population. What is causing our stress and how do we mitigate?
  • ...effectively manage stress and anxiety? This is a life skill that is not being taught. How many of us understand how to effectively manage stress/anxiety so we can help our children?
  • ...our constant rumination on negative thoughts and narratives?. How do we create #thinkstrongnow habits to replace our negative thinking patterns?
  • ...think in ways that are productive for us? We are in control of only one thing in our lives. The thoughts we think. Let's choose to #thinkstrongnow
  • ...addiction to texting? Texting has brainwashed us to believe that we must answer each other in seconds as if we are all so damn important that it can’t wait 15 minutes. How do we combat this?
  • ...addiction to our cell phone? Have you ever misplaced your cell phone? If so, you can relate to the fear associated with not being connected.  This is not healthy. Yes, we are all important….just not as important as our cultural behaviors have led us to believe.

From Eleanor Roosevelt:

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

The person that has made me most inferior in my life is ME. The person that has made me feel most confident and self-assured in my life is ME. To Eleanor Roosevelt, I apologize. I let you down. Going forward, I am committed to #thinkstrongnow habits and committed to controlling my thoughts such that I control my emotions on my way to being my most confident self. As I continue to develop my controlled thinking for the betterment of my personal psychology, I am committed to helping others recognize their limiting beliefs and committed to helping others replace limiting beliefs with empowering beliefs that will propel them to become the men and women that they have the potential to become. #thinkstrongnow

My guiding principle for my life is that I will use my “natural athleticism” to build authentic rapport with those seeking to better themselves. Together we will become stronger. As we individually become stronger, our families become stronger. As our families become stronger, our communities become stronger. As our communities become stronger our country becomes stronger. As our country becomes stronger, the world becomes stronger. Therefore, I will change the world one positive habit and one positive human interaction at a time. Care to join me?
